Our first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified Dunkin’ Donuts store opened in October 2008 in St. Petersburg, Florida, and recently achieved LEED Silver Certification. To further our commitment to sustainable building, we will soon break ground on a second "green" Dunkin' Donuts restaurant targeting LEED certification in St. Petersburg.

Energy efficiency is a green building principle our franchisees can use in their existing stores to reduce carbon emissions and lower their utility bills. We created a customized Energy Efficiency pamphlet to help them get started.

In 2009, Dunkin' Brands joined Ceres, a coalition of investors and environmental and public interest groups that supports companies seeking to improve their sustainability performance.
